Berichtigungspolitik

Lageanalyse24 is committed to correcting errors promptly and transparently, because trust is the foundation of independent journalism. This page explains how we handle corrections, who is responsible, and how readers can report inaccuracies. Our approach is guided by the principles set out in our editorial policy.

Who is responsible for correcting errors at Lageanalyse24?

Sophie Zimmermann, Ansvarig för faktagranskning, leads the standards desk that handles all correction requests. Maximilian Möller, Chefredaktör, has final oversight of editorial standards and publication decisions. Both work under Lageanalyse2 Media Ltd., a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009), with its registered office at Office 9, Business Centre, Valletta, 0000.

The standards desk operates independently from commercial interests. No advertising or sponsorship relationship can influence whether a correction is issued or how it is worded. This independence is central to our ownership and funding model.

How can I report an error?

Readers can report any error by emailing corrections@lageanalyse24.de. Please include the URL of the article, a clear description of the alleged error, and, if possible, a source that supports the correct information.

Reports may also be sent to the general contact address info@lageanalyse24.de, which will forward them to the standards desk. The team acknowledges receipt within two business days. For urgent corrections that concern a named individual’s reputation or safety, the subject line should include “URGENT”.

What happens when a material error is confirmed?

When a material error – one that could mislead a reader or significantly change the meaning of an article – is confirmed, the article is updated and a correction note is appended at the bottom. The note states what was originally published, what has been corrected, and the date of the change.

Minor typographical mistakes, formatting glitches, or factual slips that do not affect the overall understanding are corrected silently. All substantive corrections are logged internally and reviewed quarterly by the standards desk.

How quickly does the corrections team respond?

The standards desk aims to acknowledge a correction request within two business days. For clear, well-documented errors, a resolution – either a correction or an explanation of why no change is necessary – is usually provided within five business days. More complex cases requiring further research may take additional time, and the reporter will be kept informed of progress.

If a reader does not receive a timely response, they may escalate the matter to Chefredaktör Maximilian Möller at anders.lindqvist@lageanalyse24.de. He will personally review the case and ensure a final response within ten business days.

What if I am not satisfied with the handling of a correction?

Readers who remain dissatisfied after a response from the standards desk or the Chefredaktör may follow our formal complaints procedure. That process includes a final review by an independent editorial ombudsperson and a published summary of serious unresolved complaints.

Lageanalyse24 also participates in external press councils where applicable. Information about those bodies is available in our team page and in the complaints procedure.
